Sea Vegetables Improve Thyroid Disease
Sea Vegetables include things like Kelp, Nori, Dulse, Wakame, and Agar.
While the thyroid absolutely needs iodine for health, the best way to get this is not through supplementation but through natural food sources.
The reason for this is that there are many other micronutrients in food that complement each other. When you just take a single mineral it is easy to have too much of it.
Did you know that an excess and a deficiency in ANYTHING will look the same?? So you may be feeling crappy and thinking you need more iodine and start upping the amount you are taking when in reality the symptoms could be from having too much iodine.
When you look through the studies on the thyroid and iodine, half of the cases were from too much and half were from too little.
So if you ingest your iodine from a source like sea vegetables you will get the iodine but you will also get Vitamins A & C, manganese, Vitamins B1, B2, B3, B6, iron, zinc, protein, potassium, phosphorous and calcium. A much more well-rounded thyroid boost don't you think??
Home-made sushi anyone???
