Intense Exercise Lowers Thyroid Function

Well that's good news hahahahaha!!

Well, for those of us who have a love-hate relationship with the "E" Word that is....

Why would this be the case though?

Intense exercise actually stresses our adrenals. And since our adrenals and thyroid are on opposite sides of see saw (teeter totter) then if adrenals are stressed and up then our thyroid will be down.

I'm not saying we shouldn't exercise - that's crazy pants! We just need exercise that is more helpful to our particular bodies. Ideas include:

Walking
Cycling
Swimming
Rebounding (my favourite)
Yoga
Pilates
Light weights with higher reps

So let's give pounding the pavement for hours everyday a miss along with intense heavy lifting until our thyroid and adrenals are balancing like they should.
