Cabbage Slows Thyroid Function

Cabbage is another member of the Brassica Family which are also known as a goitrogen. It can lower thyroid production and contribute to goitre's.

Many studies say that cooking this family destroys the goitrogen content of the food, however, I urge you to test it out for yourself. If this is something you eat every day, or many times a week, try removing it for a month or two and see if there is any change to your health - good or bad.

I found out the hard way that I can't eat it very often cooked or not. So I treat myself maybe once or twice a year. So always be your own study when it comes to what foods your body respond well too.
